Cheerleading at Chowan

Chowan University Athletics sponsors cheerleading squads for football and men's and women's basketball. The CU "Sapphires" entertain crowds at all home and away football contests while also at all home and select road games for the men's and women's basketball teams.  The "Sapphires" also get to join in the CIAA experience in Charlotte at the annual CIAA Basketball Championships. Select members of the "Sapphires" have been chosen to participate at the annual CIAA Football Championships in Durham, NC since 2008. The squad is also active in campus and community events.
