SALISBURY, NC- The Chowan University softball team earned their eighth straight win on Sunday after defeating the Livingstone Lady Blue Bears 9-0 in CIAA play. 
 
The Hawks' bats stayed hot on Sunday, and the Alora Lincoln-Courtney Groce tandem combined to earn the shut-out win.  Lincoln threw the first three innings of the contest, surrendering two hits while striking out six.  Groce took the mound for the fourth and fifth innings and kept the Lady Blue Bears at-bay, holding them to one hit and earning two strikeouts. 
 
Leigh Ward was 3-3 in the win, and Kelly Hardison collected two RBI's with a perfect 4-4 afternoon at the plate.  Hannah Joyce drove in three RBI's in the victory. 
 
The Hawks host Lock Haven University on Wednesday March 20^th in a nonconference doubleheader.  First-pitch is slated for 1:00pm.
