BOX SCORE Elizabeth City State downed the Chowan University women's basketball team 77-49 on Saturday evening in a CIAA Northern Division match-up. The Hawks allowed the Lady Vikings to score 48 points off of turnovers, combined with 13 second chance points.
T'Shea Glenn led the Hawks with 11 points in the loss. Glenn had a career night for the Hawks as she was 2-2 from three point land, and shot 3-4 from the charity stripe.

Elizabeth City State's Shatara Jackson led all scorers in the contest with 22 points. Jasmine Whitehurst collected 13 points and DaShera Boone added 11 for the Lady Vikings.
Elizabeth City State grabbed a quick 7-0 lead to start the game. The Hawks fought to make the score 7-4 at the 17:22 mark. A three pointer from Boone for Elizabeth City gave the Lady Vikings an 18-8 lead with 12:48 left in the half. Chowan trailed by double digit points for the remainder of the half, trailing by as many as 34 points at the 3:58 mark. The Hawks headed into the locker room trailing 42-17.
The second half was much like the first, with the Lady Vikings setting the tempo and controlling the basketball. A spread offensive attack allowed Elizabeth City to secure the 77-49 win.
The Lady Vikings tighten their grip on first place in the North after Saturday's win. Elizabeth City moves to 19-3 overall, 11-1 in the league and perfect in the Northern Division with a 6-0 record.
The Hawks fall to 4-17 overall, 4-8 in the CIAA and 2-4 in the Northern Division. Chowan will host Virginia State University on February 13
th in the 5
