TUCSON, AZ- The Chowan University softball team dropped two games on Sunday to the University of New Haven on the final day of the NFCA Leadoff Classic. The Hawks fell 9-1 in the first game and 5-1 in the second contest to the Chargers.
Alora Lincoln went the distance for Chowan in game one.
Hannah Joyce was 1-3 in the loss with a double, and
Megan Wade was 1-2.
Leigh Ward drove in the lone RBI for the Hawks in the contest.
Courtney Groce suffered the 5-1 loss in the second game against the Chargers. Joyce was 2-3 in the loss.
Tori Cragan drove in an RBI for the Hawks in the first inning with a double.
Complete statistics were not available at the time of this release. The Hawks concluded their weekend at the NFCA 0-6 and fall to 2-8 on the season. Chowan returns to Murfreesboro to host UNC-Pembroke in a non-conference doubleheader on February 23
rd. First pitch is slated for 12:00pm.
