GREENVILLE, SC – The National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) has honored Chowan University football players
Robert Holland and
Patrick Charles. Holland was named to the 2011 All-NCCAA First Team on offense, and Charles was tabbed All-NCCAA First Team on defense.
At the conclusion of this season, Holland was also named to the First Team All-CIAA after leading the CIAA in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He hauled in 69 catches for 943 yards and 13 touchdowns. Holland has re-written the Chowan record books throughout his career, and this season. His 13 touchdown grabs broke the previous single-season school record of ten. He also owns the Chowan career receptions, career receiving yards, and career receiving touchdowns records.
Also this past season, Holland became the school's all-time leading scorer and broke the single-season record for points scored.
Charles was named Second Team All-CIAA following a stellar senior season. He led the Hawks this season with 44 solo tackles, and was second in total tackles with 70. His 7.0 tackles per game ranked 15
th in the CIAA, and third among defensive backs. Charles also recorded a team-high three interceptions this season.
Charles excelled in the return game all season for the Hawks. He averaged 22.4 yards per kickoff return and 12.5 yards per punt return.
