HAMPTON, VA- The Chowan University volleyball team secured a spot in the CIAA Volleyball Championship semi-final with a 3-0 sweep of the Livingstone College Lady Blue Bears.  The Hawks will return on Saturday at 5:00 pm for their fourth straight semi-final appearance in as many years. 
 
Karina Monroe led the Hawks in the third match of the day with 17 kills.  Nikira Fults collected 12 and Callie Armistead tallied 39 assists. 
 
The Hawks will take on Winston-Salem State University on Saturday at 5:00 pm in the semi-final match to determine who will advance to the championship match on Sunday.  Fayetteville State University and Livingstone College will play each other at 7:00 pm compete for an appearance in the championship on Sunday.
