ETTRICK, VA- The Chowan University women's cross country team finished in 2^nd place in the Trojan Cross Country Invitational held at Virginia State University on Friday afternoon. 
 
Gerlisa Shipman crossed the finish line first for the Hawks with a time of 21:58 and fourth place overall finish.  Jomecka Deloatch wasn't far behind, with a sixth place overall finish and time of 22:28.
 
Crystal Louramore trekked the course in 23:12 and came in seventh place overall.  Stephany Powell and Shaneka Sawyer rounded out the scoring for Chowan, finishing with times of 25:05 and 29:39 respectively.  Their 10^th and 16^th place finish contributed to a team score of 43, good for 2^nd place. 
 
Angelica Satchell also competed in the meet, crossing the finish line at the 29:48 mark.
