HAMPTON, VA – For the second straight week, Chowan freshman Kyree Bethel has been named CIAA Rookie of the Week.  Bethel averaged 15 points and 4.3 rebounds last week.  From three-point territory, he connected on 12 of 23 shots, good for 52.2%.
 
Against Bowie State University on January 21^st, Bethel drained eight three-pointers, just one shy of the Chowan single-game record.  His 27 points in that game was the most by any Chowan player this season.
 
Bethel is currently #2 in the CIAA, shooting 54.2% from beyond the arc, and tied for second with 45 threes made.
 
Chowan will host Lincoln University (PA) tonight at 7:30pm.
