CHARLOTTE, NC - Senior women's basksetball player
Tameka Christopher earned an elite award last night at the 2010 CIAA Tournament when she was named this year's CIAA Lowe's Senior Class recipient. Christopher accepted her award last night in front of thousands of fans at Time Warner Cable Arena accompanied by her coach,
Patrick Mashuda.
"I am excited for Tameka and we are all so proud of her," said Mashuda. "This is a great honor not only for Tameka but for our program overall."
Lowe's has partnered with the CIAA to honor one deserving senior from both the men's and women's programs from CIAA member institutions. After an online voting process, votes are then sent to an executive board where final decisions are made.
In addition to the core requirement that a candidate be an NCAA Division II CIAA senior in men's or women's basketball, the award winner will be selected based on personal qualities that define a complete student-athlete. These areas of excellence are defined by
the four Cs: Classroom, Community, Competition, and Community.
