MURFREESBORO - Two weeks after announcing two of three golf NLI's, Chowan's Head Golf Coach, Ellen Ordnung, announced today a third golfer who signed a National Letter of Intent to play for her in the Fall. Zach Smith will come to Chowan in the Fall after signing an NLI earlier this summer. 

The Lawrenceville, Virginia native attended Brunswick Academy and was a four-year member of the golf team. He was an outstanding player in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference where he was crowned the VCC Regional Tournament winner four years running. This past Spring he finished in 2nd place at the VCC State Tournament. 

"I am excited to add Zach to our incoming class of new golfers," said Ordnung. "He is a hidden talent that I believe will excel at the college level in time."

Ordnung and the 2009-10 golf team will start practice in the Fall of this year.
