HAMPTON, VA - The golf team placed third at the Apprentice School Invitational out of four teams after turning in a season low of 327 strokes. They were 28 strokes off the lead after Columbus State University finished up with a 299 after 18 holes. All five Chowan players shot under 90 for the first time all season. Josh Bryant (at left) broke 80 for the first time this season.
Cliff Forbes finished up with a 75, six strokes over at the Par 69 course. He finished up tied for fourth place individually. Josh Bryant turned in a 79 while John Riddick posted an 85 through 18 holes. Michael Edwards shot an 88 and Gregg Brooks rounded out the scoring with an 89.
The Hawks will take a week off before hitting the course again next weekend at the Carolina Sands Collegiate Invitational in Elizabethtown, North Carolina.
