Men's Tennis Shut Out at Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, NC - The men's tennis dropped a 9-0 decision at Pfeiffer University on Friday afternoon. Friday's loss drops the Hawks to 2-5 on the year. Chowan won nine games on the doubles side as a team but only 13 games on the singles side in the loss.

Darik Gilman anchored the #1 singles match, falling 6-1, 6-1. Gilman also paired up with Jonathan Walker in the #1 doubles match where they fell 8-2. Raitis Abolins dropped the #2 singles match 6-0, 6-1 and fell in his doubles match with teammate Ira Coates 8-4. Mike Fencil fell in the #4 singles match 6-0, 6-2 while Adam Moneypenny lost the #5 singles match 6-4, 6-0. Fencil and Moneypenny lost the #2 doubles match with a final score 8-3. Walker anchored the #3 singles match hwere he fell with a final match score of 6-2, 6-2. Coates dropped the #6 singles match 6-0, 6-0 to give Chowan a 9-0 loss.

The Hawks matched up against Catawba College on Saturday afternoon.
