MURFREESBORO - Chowan University's Head Bowling Coach, Tom Whiteman, will embark on the school's inaugural season this weekend as the team's travels to their first-ever NCAA and CIAA bowling match. Whiteman, along with six of his nine bowlers, will make the trek to Charlotte to participate in the CIAA Western Divisional Round Up, hosted by Johnson C. Smith University. 

The team will participate in the baker-style and total pin-fall match starting Friday and continue with play through Sunday afternoon. All six of the CIAA West Division teams will participate this weekend. 

The 2009-10 season marks the first-ever season of competition for the women's bowling team at Chowan University.
