Softball Drops Two at USC-Aiken Early Bird

MURFREESBORO - The softball team was swept in second day of the USC-Aiken Early Bird Classic today with losses to Francis Marion University and #2 North Georgia State College and University. The Hawks came into today's play at 1-2 with a win over Seton Hill yesterday and left today with 9-1 and 8-2 losses to FMU and NGSCU.

AIKEN, SC - The softball team opened their 2010 season at the USC-Aiken Early Bird Classic this afternoon where they went 1-2 over three games played today. Poor weather forced changes in today's original playing schedule but the Hawks still managed to get in three games. Chowan picked up an 8-7 win over Seton Hill University to open the tournament but then fell 8-0 and 9-1 to Lander University and Erskine College respectively.

Baseball, Softball Set to Open 2010 Season

MURFREESBORO - Although the recent weather would tell a different story, two of Chowan University's spring sports are set to open their seasons this weekend on the road. The baseball and softball programs, both periennial successful programs for the athletic department, are set to open the season this weekend on the road. The baseball team will travel to Coker College for a three game series while the softball team will open up at the USC-Aiken Early Bird Classic.
