PETERSBURG, VA - The golf team finished up in second place at the Fall Trojan Classic hosted by Virginia State University this past Monday and Tuesday. The Hawks, who held the lead as a team after their first round, finished the two day tournament with 624 strokes, 17 strokes off VSU's 607, who took first place. The tournament was held at Dogwood Trace in Petersburg and featured CIAA teams VSU, Virginia Union, Fayetteville State, Chowan, and St. Augustine's.

Forbes Gets Third Medalist Honor, Hawks Take 2nd Place

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Golfer Cliff Forbes shot a match-best 69 to gain his third medalist honor in as many matches. As a team the Hawks finished in 2nd place at the Apprentice School Fall Round Up with a team total of 221. The Apprentice Maroon team took the top spot with 218 strokes. The match was played at The Woodlands Golf Club.

Golf Team Places First at Builder Invitational

SUFFOLK, VA - The Chowan University golf team placed first place at the Newport News Apprentice School Builder Fall Invitational this afternoon hosted at Sleepy Hole Golf Club. The team turned in 320 strokes, 11 better than host-team Newport News Apprentice and 23 strokes better than 3rd place team Virginia Wesleyan College. Sophomore Cliff Forbes took home medalist honors after shooting the low round at 74, two over par.
