Football Announces NLI Commitments

MURFREESBORO - Chowan University's Head Football Coach, Tim Place, announced today the signing of three prospects for the fall season along with three spring semester team additions. After today's official signing day the Hawks have three National Letter of Intent signees inked to start school and practice in August of this year. The six new team additions represent positions on both sides of the ball and four different states.

ATLANTA - Senior CJ Westler has been honored by the Atlanta based "100% Wrong Club" after earning the CIAA Offensive Player of the Year. Westler has been invited to join the club on February 5-6th as they celebrate the accomplishments of athletes around the country. Westler was named the CIAA Offensive Player of the Year in the fall after leading the league in passing yards, total offense, and touchdowns.

Hartly, DE - The Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) has announced their 2009 All-American Division I-FCS and Division II teams. The team is comprised of student athletes from the nation’s Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The team and coach of the year are selected by the HSRN production staff. CU's Robert Holland was named to the team after turning in a solid freshman year for the Hawks football program.
