HARTSVILLE, SC - The baseball team opened the 2010 season with two tough road losses today at Coker College. The Hawks fell with final scores of 11-8 and 9-5 in the non-conference doubleheader. Chowan tallied 23 hits over two games but Coker managed to pick up runs when it counted to sweep the doubleheader.

Impending Weather Forces Baseball to Change Weekend Schedule

COKER, SC - The baseball team will now travel to play Coker College on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm in a doubleheader due to impending inclement weather. The Hawks were originally scheduled to leave today for games Saturday and Sunday but now will leave Saturday for the Sunday doubleheader. The Hawks are still set to open their home season on February 12th at 1:00pm against Shepherd University.

MURFREESBORO - Although the recent weather would tell a different story, two of Chowan University's spring sports are set to open their seasons this weekend on the road. The baseball and softball programs, both periennial successful programs for the athletic department, are set to open the season this weekend on the road. The baseball team will travel to Coker College for a three game series while the softball team will open up at the USC-Aiken Early Bird Classic.
