FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - Chowan claimed stake to the 2008 NCCAA South Region Baseball Championship after beating Emmanuel College twice this afternoon. The Hawks won game one 9-5 and game two 14-9. Chowan battled back after dropping their opening round game on Thursday to #3 Palm Beach Atlantic. They edged #1 Southern Wesleyan University 7-6 to advance to the loser bracket finals where they ousted PBA to secure a spot in the championship game. To claim the title they had to beat undefeated Emmanuel College twice. With today's wins the Hawks move to 34-18 overall.

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - Chowan edged Palm Beach Atlantic 12-9 in the loser bracket finals of the NCCAA South Region Tournament this afternoon. The win moves the Hawks into the Championship game tomorrow afternoon against unbeaten Emmanuel College.

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - The baseball team kept their NCCAA South Region Championship hopes alive after coming from behind to knock off the #1 seeded Southern Wesleyan University 7-6. The Hawks opened the tournament with a 6-5 loss to #3 Palm Beach Atlantic, pushing them to the loser bracket. Playing directly after the loss to PBA the Hawks rallied to overcome a three-run deficit and take the 7-6 win in dramatic style.
